Josh Johnson, BSU’s softball pitching coach, is offering another 5-week Pitching Academy at 5 Tool beginning October 19.

Johnson is an experienced NCAA Division I coach with Super Regional experience. He also played at the Major level of the North American Fastpitch Association (NAFA) from 2004-2016 as both a pitcher and an outfielder. He was inducted into the NAFA Hall of Fame in 2013 and was the association’s MVP in 2014.

In addition to his current position as Ball State’s pitching coach, he was previously the pitching coach at the University of Texas at El Paso, University of Louisiana-Lafayette and served as the head coach at Faulkner State Community College where he was the winningest coach in the program’s history.

Taught on Thursdays, the academy will run from October 19 – November 16.

6 p.m. Class

This session is for athletes who have limited or no experience in Johnson’s previous pitching academies. Cost is $135 for all 5 sessions and includes a 5 Tool shirt.

This sessions is for athletes who have previously enrolled in multiple pitching academies with Coach Johnson. Cost is $135 for all 5 sessions and includes a 5 Tool shirt.

Given NCAA recruitment restrictions, this class is limited to athletes 8th grade and younger. High school student interested in working with Coach Johnson, should email 5 Tool Academy. If there is sufficient interest, Johnson will offer a high school academy that meets the recruitment guidelines.
