5 Tool is pleased to offer a comprehensive training program for one of the most demanding positions in the game – permitting catchers to progress through several levels of receiving, blocking, throwing and fielding to handling pitchers and calling the game.
The baseball catching academies are taught by Joe Butts who was a 4-year starting catcher for Xavier University, with more than 15 years of coaching and teaching experience.
Leigh McAnally leads the softball catching academies. She previously was a starting catcher for Ball State and connects exceptionally well with athletes as they develop their skills.
Both are outstanding instructors who will enable catchers to develop their game.
In addition to the catching component of 5 Tool’s Total Player Development Classes for athletes ages 7-12, there are Catching Academies designed for Middle and High School athletes. Click on the links below for more information about the academy of your choice:
Softball Catching Academies
Middle School – meets on Saturday at 3 p.m.
High School – meets on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Baseball Catching Academies
Middle School – meets on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
High School – meets on Sunday at 8 a.m.
Both Joe and Leigh also are available for private catching lessons if you would prefer that format or the class time does not fit with your schedule.
