Josh Johnson, BSU’s softball assistant coach, returns to 5 Tool Academy for 4-week pitching academies in November and December.

Johnson is an experienced NCAA Division I coach with Super Regional experience. He also plays at the Major level of the North American Fastpitch Association (NAFA) since 2004 as both a pitcher and an outfielder. He was inducted into the NAFA Hall of Fame in 2013 and was the association’s MVP in 2014.

In addition to his current position as Ball State’s pitching coach, he was previously the pitching coach at the University of Texas at El Paso, Univeristy of Louisana-Lafayette and served as the head coach at Faulkner State Community College where he was the winningest coach in the program’s history.

Taught on Tuesdays, the class will run from November 1-22 and November 29 – December 20. Click on the groups below to learn more register:

November Classes
6:00 p.m.  Introductory Class – for athletes who have not attended previous academies with Johnson

7:00 p.m.  Intermediate Class – for athletes who have taken one class with Johnson or are experienced middle school pitchers

8:00 p.m.  Advanced Class – for athletes who have taken multiple classes with Johnson or are experienced high school pitchers

December Classes
6:00 p.m.  Introductory Class – for athletes who have not attended previous academies with Johnson

7:00 p.m.  Intermediate Class – for athletes who have taken one class with Johnson or are experienced middle school pitchers
