Your core strength, vertical and lateral movements as well as your explosive speed impacts your overall athletic success. In all sports, your body’s ability to move and react creates a performance ceiling. For example, regardless of how well you understand the nuances of the game or how beautiful your swing, how quickly you reach first base matters.

There are several drills you can do at home to improve these critical skills. Here is a link to a simple drill selected by Zach Posey, 5 Tool’s speed and agility trainer. It will help you improve your ability to change direction and requires only 10 yards of space with 3 cones (but really, you could use any common household objects).

In addition to working out on your own, Zach is available for both group and team training sessions. Group lessons are available at 3:15 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday as well as 6 p.m. on Thursday. Team workouts are available by appointment.
