As school begins, 5 Tool Academy is pleased to announce its fall instructional schedule. With a full range of softball and baseball instruction, as well as speed and agility classes, the off-season is the perfect time to improve your game.

While many weekly lesson spots are already filled, instructor’s schedules are below:

Softball
Kassie Stanfill
Kassie Stanfill is in her third year as an assistant coach for the Ball State Softball team, a premiere Division 1 softball program. 5 Tool is delighted Kassie also is part of our softball instructional team, offering superior softball instruction to help area athletes improve their game.

Tuesday and Thursdays, 5-9 p.m.
Disciplines taught: Pitching, Hitting, Fielding, Catching

King Lumpkin
King Lumpkin is a recognized softball coach and hitting instructor. As a successful elite travel softball coach, he specializes in helping athletes develop their offensive game. Focusing on the unique mechanics of softball, athletes develop their skills and confidence at the plate.

Baseball
Mark Taylor
Mark Taylor’s lifelong passion for baseball earned him a spot in the Delaware County Athletic Hall of Fame for his high school career at Northside High School. He later played second base for University of South Carolina, where he set fielding records and was team captain his senior year. He has coached championship-winning Little League teams as well as a nationally-ranked youth travel team.

Kenny Estep
Kenny is well-recognized regionally for his expert coaching and instruction over the past 20 years. He has successfully worked with more than 300 athletes, from early elementary school through high school, and has coached more than 1500 games at the recreational, all-star, travel, high school and American Legion League level. 

Monday and Wednesday, 5-9 p.m.

Scott Ring
Scott Ring provides expert instruction to athletes at all levels but often focuses on younger athletes, helping to build a strong foundation and mechanics.

Joe Butts
Joe Butts played NCAA Division I college baseball as a four-year starting catcher for Xavier University as well as being an accomplished high school catcher. Over the past 15 years, Butts has run numerous catching camps in Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana and coached at various levels from collegiate level through Little League.

Bruce Bowling

Bruce Bowling has been sucessfully providing instruction to area athletes for several years, in particular working with some of the region’s best high school pitchers.

Speed and Agility
Zach Posey
Zach offers a wealth of sports performance experience, including a degree in exercise science from Ball State, work at St. Vincent Sports Performance facility and extensive training with high school athletes. He has experience in working with athletes from elementary school through professional athletes and Olympians.

Zach leads sports performance classes that focus on flexibility and mobility, vertical jump, acceleration, change of direction, speed, strength and power. Athletes who attend consistently can expect to see an overall improvement in their athletic performance and a lower risk of injury.

Classes are offered:
Monday 3:30 p.m. – Athletes in grades 6-12
Wednesday 3:00 p.m. – Athletes in grades 4/5
Thursday 6:00 p.m. – Athletes all ages (4th grade minimum)

Private lessons are $30 for a 30 minute session, semi-private (up to 4 athletes) are $25 for an hour long session and speed and agility lessons are $20 per hour long class.
