5 Tool Academy’s mission is to provide an exceptional baseball and softball training facility and well-run youth tournaments. This is achieved through a combination of operational efficiency and effectiveness, expert staff, creating a multi-generational community sharing the love of the game, and helping athletes develop both their game-related skills and their character to enable them to win on the field and in life.
The primary functions of Softball Instructors are to:
- Teach private, semi-private, and group softball lessons to athletes ages 7-19
- Develop progressive lesson plans customized for each athlete or class
- Collaborate with athletes and parents to develop and track goals and developmental progression
- Communicate schedule requirements, including changes, to the Scheduling Coordinator
Job Requirements
- Experience playing or coaching at the collegiate level – Required
- Ability to provide expert softball hitting instruction to athletes ages 7-19 – Required
- Ability to teach slapping, fielding, pitching, or catching – Preferred
- Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively teach children and interact with parents
- Collaborate with athletes and parents to develop and track goals and developmental progression
- Develop progressive lesson plans customized for each athlete or class
- Be present for all scheduled lessons, arriving early and prepared to maximize each athlete’s lesson time
- Professional attitude and demeanor with athletes, parents, and facility team members
Compensation
- Instructors are contractors, not employees, of 5 Tool Academy and are paid on a commission basis
- 5 Tool will collaborate with instructors to identify other paid opportunities at the organization while the instructor’s schedule is filling, as needed
